NEW DELHI: Chinese handset maker Nubia said that it will launch its gaming smartphone - Red Magic 3 by mid-June 2019. The gaming phone was originally launched in China in April end.
The gaming phone launch will be followed the launch of Nubia Alpha, a flexible display wearable phone. Both these devices are likely to be priced between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000, ET previously reported.
Nubia co-founder and senior vice president Ni Fei recently told ET that the brand—in its latest attempt at gaining a foothold in the India market—plans to pitch itself as a premium gaming device, and will leverage its complete ecosystem around gaming phones back in China.
Nubia, which started as a sub-brand of ZTE, now operates as a standalone brand in China. ZTE, however, still owns 49.9% stake, while rest of the stake is owned by Suning Holdings Group and some independent stakeholders.
